sincerely about loveIf I were to write sincerely about love,
you wouldn't see Iloveyouiloveyouilove you
scribbled and rescribbled all over the wall.
You wouldn't know of the hugs and the kisses,
the hellos and the goodbyes,
the promises and the whispers,
because if it's love
I won't be thinking about those things;
I would just let them happen.

If I were to write sincerely about love,
I'd cherish the silly things before all else:
caterpillars recreating themselves
behind closed doors,
carnations pinned to freshly ironed prom dresses,
months speeding by and blurring perceptions and colors
according to the pictures they represent on the calendar,
in

RequiemForASoldier...

They bury him under a flag, on a cool autumn morning.  His brother escorts her, supports her tenderly through the service.  He is the one who flinches at the rifle salute.  She closes her eyes and opens her heart and lets the staccato shots pass through her like a wind.

Only blanks.  Not real bullets.  Nothing like the barreling rounds that ripped his flesh and smashed in under his narrow ribs and nailed his life to the inside back of his flack jacket.

That slim silent figure in uniform.  Laid out cold and still.  That’s not him.  He’s not here.

about how i make your nosides become yessides.

sing me a song
about how you dream of Me,
about how you dream of We,
about how you dream of You
trading places with a teacher
and redefining pronouns A-Z.
(redefining vowels I-U)

about how we dance on typewriters,
about how we smash our keyboards,
about how we confuse plastic pianos
for claviers, confuse fingers for choirs,
confuse lovesongs for record players.
(any other genre of "players" as well)

learning how to lose.last winter i fell in love.
i fell in love with a boy who had jutting collar bones and skinny legs, and whose mousy brown hair curled in all the wrong places, who had perfectly thin lips.
he kissed me for the first time in the middle of the night, and we sat on an old brown couch, under two blankets shivering in the cold watching the stars and waiting for the sunrise.

last spring i was his world.
he was everything i'd ever needed, everything i'd ever imagined. he told me he'd love me forever and ever, and that i was more important than anything in the world. one night, he spent hours on end reading me fairy tales from all over the worl

if i wasn't lacking force,
i'd settle for the space

and because you're afraid of the dark

and then you are all alone and she's with you but
you've got nothing left on your bedside table
and nothing left
to live for
except a boy who won't call

but it's fine.
and everything's always fine.
because your heart hurts and your heart burns
but you can't keep your eyes open

and then you lie down and hope that you die.

kill two promises with one lieit was the day i swore
to never love anyone;
i heard doves chirping
goodmorning lullabies
to some deaf pigeon.
i opened my window,
and shot them twice.

once,
because they are wasting their time
and mine. so why not put them out
of their misery?

then once again,
because at six am,
i do not want any fucking birds
making noise or making love or
making a mess of my mind as i
try to sleep another dreamless
night. one for every damn bird
in this cyan-scribbled sky. two
for every earaching coo. three
for every winged beast singing
elegies that remind me of gods
that remind me of holidays that
remind me of the times you lie

disproportional, disadvantagedthere's a 100% chance that
i love you,

but a 0.00% chance of
Us ever working out.

the countries your father trades you to,
how far away the moon is,
what your body looks like,

oh, you know this already.
let's blame it on biology–
it's the fault of genetics,
of chromosomes.
let's blame our alleles
for playing favourites.

I forgot to forget you.

Once you told me you didn't like the way I curl myself towards you
And that I shouldn't walk with my feet facing the other because it was childlike

I took the long way home that night thinking about what you said, staring at my feet
Forcing them to point forward. Every time they disobeyed I pinched myself till my thighs were anesthetized,
So now I can’t feel my legs.

I’ve always written the words you’ve said to me and posted them around my room,
I'd bite my lip, as the sun hit the L in useless,
Us-(e)-less. Imaging the way the words rolled off your tongue

I'm juxtaposed
By vanished stars
Who scribbled into a
Scrolling sky-
Their elegant prose
And anguished scars
Speak forever; they
Can never die.

postcards from nowhereshe was an artist once -- a sculptor, to be exact. her passion was rolling clay through her fingers and molding it with her imagination, letting the musty scent of inspiration tap dance across her sinuses. mornings were for pinching out spines and eye sockets, afternoons would find her tracing toes and the delicate arch of a foot, and evenings were for studying the completed statue before her. she crafted entire civilizations, but after him, she sculpted keys instead -- wide and gangly and out-of-proportion, but keys nevertheless.

then she broke them all against the wall because she couldn't risk another person unlocking her heart.

"Tripping Over"

Erm, not one of my best, by any means...but it's cathartic, somehow. This is kind of a follow-up to oh darling, because I still feel guilty about that piece, and because I really am okay with everything that went down.

If anything, I'm happier now than I ever was with him.

while the phrase 'i tripped' is repetative on purpose, i think it's a bit overdone.

however I do like the point behind this. nicely done.
